13-Year-Old Swimmer from DKI Wins 2 Golds and Breaks PON Record in One Day

Medan, Todaysgist.com – Young swimmer from Jakarta, Adelia Chantika Aulia, stole the attention on the fifth day of the XXI/2024 Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) which took place at the Selayang Swimming Pool, Medan, Wednesday (18/9/2021).

In a short time, after winning gold in the women’s 100-meter freestyle, Adelia, who is only 13 years old, again showed her greatness by winning the women’s 100-meter backstroke.

The time of 1 minute 04.07 seconds that she recorded also broke the PON record, beating the previous record of 1 minute 04.68 seconds held by Flairene Candrea in the qualifying session.

In the women’s 100-meter backstroke, Adelia beat Alegria Linette Sruy from Bali who took second place with a time of 1 minute 04.08 seconds.

Meanwhile, bronze was won by Azzahra Permatahani from Central Sulawesi with a time of 1 minute 04.47 seconds.

Flairene Candrea, who previously held the record, had to be satisfied with fourth place with a time of 1 minute 04.57 seconds.

4. Flairene Candrea (DKI Jakarta) – 1 minute 04.57 seconds
5. Elsa Anasyia (West Kalimantan) – 1 minute 08.20 seconds
6. Hazkia Yunaira Wiguna (Aceh) – 1 minute 12.61 seconds
