2 Swimming Records Broken in Men’s and Women’s 200 Meter Breaststroke

Medan, Todaysgist.com – Two National Sports Week (PON) records were broken in the men’s and women’s 200-meter breaststroke swimming events at PON XXI/2024 Aceh-North Sumatra at the Selayang Swimming Pool, Medan, North Sumatra, Monday (16/9/2024).

In the men’s 200-meter breaststroke, Balinese swimmer Pande Made Iron Digjaya performed impressively by becoming the fastest in the men’s sector, namely 2 minutes 16.76 seconds.

The result replaced Gagarin Nathaniel Yus as the PON record holder when he appeared at the 2021 Papua PON. At that time, Gagaran recorded a time of 2 minutes 17.81 seconds.

Pande Iron Digjaya won gold by defeating Muhammad Dwiky Raharjo (West Java) who finished in second place with 2 minutes 17.25 seconds.

Meanwhile, the bronze medal was won by East Java swimmer Andi Muhammad Nurrizka Febrianto with 2 minutes 19.09 seconds.

Meanwhile, in the women’s sector, West Java swimmer Adellia recorded 2 minutes 32.93 seconds in the 200 meter breaststroke.

Adellia broke the PON record held by Ressa Kania Dewi who recorded a time of 2 minutes 33.97 seconds when appearing at the 2021 Papua PON.

At the XXI PON, Ressa had to be satisfied with winning silver with a time of 2 minutes 36.40 seconds.

Azzahra Permatahani, who represented Central Sulawesi, was in third place with a time of 2 minutes 38.76 seconds.
