2024 AFF Cup Champion, Indonesian Futsal Moves Up to Class

Tangerang, Beritasatu.com – The Indonesian men’s futsal team who won the 2024 AFF Cup arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Monday (11/11/2024) evening. The championship title indicates that Indonesian futsal has moved up a class.

Their arrival was welcomed by the General Chair of the Indonesian Futsal Federation, Michael Sianipar and dozens of supporters.

“Today we welcome the arrival of the men’s national futsal team who have returned from the 2024 ASEAN Futsal Championship competition in Thailand and have come home with extraordinary prizes,” said Michael at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

The achievements achieved by the Indonesian national futsal team are a source of pride after 14 years of waiting. “On Heroes’ Day yesterday, our fellow athletes from the national futsal team became real heroes and managed to win this cup. This is a source of pride for all of us. After 14 years of waiting, we can finally bring it back,” he said.

According to Michael Sianipar, the success of the Indonesian men’s futsal national team in becoming champions of the AFF Cup indicates that Indonesian futsal has moved up a class.

“We will continue to train harder to prepare for higher levels. “In fact, if I may say so, just this morning it was announced that Indonesia will be the host for ASEAN Futsal in 2026,” continued Michael.

Michael hopes that this achievement can be maintained in the future.

National futsal team captain Mochammad Iqbal Rahmatullah thanked coach Hector Souto. He also thanked the Indonesian people.

“As Mr. Ketum said earlier, after 14 years of fasting for the title, thank God this trophy has returned to Indonesia. This is also thanks to the prayers and support of the Indonesian people. Without them all of us would be nothing,” he said.

The Indonesian national futsal team won the 2024 AFF Futsal Cup after beating Vietnam in the 2024 AFF Futsal Cup final. Playing at Terminal 21 Nakhon Ratchasima, Sunday (10/11/2024), the Red and White team won 2-0.
