However, Leandro Paredes who was sent as the executioner failed to carry out his duties properly. The ball he sent hit the left post of Gallese's goal and bounced hard onto the field.

Argentina only actually scored the second goal in the 86th minute. Lautaro Martinez again became a scourge for the opposing defense after he moved to take advantage of the empty Peruvian defense to send a ball that Gallese couldn't reach.

Peru tried to take turns threatening Argentina's goal through headers Franco Zanelatto at the end of the second half. However, Emi Martinez immediately did his job to deflect the ball and keep La Albiceleste's goal safe.

The referee gave injury time four minutes at the end of the match normal time. The advantage for Argentina is that this duration can no longer be maximized by Peru. The 2-0 score for the Albiceleste lasted until the end.
