3 British Citizens Sued by FBI Due to NFT Project Fraud

Previously, the Australian Government implemented a ban on the use of crypto and credit cards for online gambling. This policy was implemented to protect the country's citizens from non-urgent debt spikes.

The Canberra Times report states that Australia will begin banning the use of digital currency and credit cards for online gambling platforms from June 11, 2024.

Launching News.bitcoin.com, Wednesday (12/6/2024) The Australian government announced that companies that fail to comply with this new regulation can be subject to fines of up to around AUD 234,750 or the equivalent of Rp. 2.5 billion.

The rules include credit cards linked to digital wallets, cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, and other new forms of credit.

The new policy is also in line with Australian laws on land-based gambling. However, there are exceptions, such as online lottery payments, which still allow credit cards.

CEO of Responsible Wagering Australia, Kai Cantwell, an independent organization for Australian licensed gambling service providers, expressed his support for the policy.
