35 Years of Badminton, Hendra Setiawan Retires After Indonesia Masters 2025

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian badminton player Hendra Setiawan announced his retirement from professional badminton after the 2025 Indonesia Masters tournament.

“I have been in the world of badminton for 35 years. I think now is the right time to decide that I will end my career as a badminton athlete,” said Hendra via his social media account, Wednesday (4/12/2024) as reported Between.

He said that the 2025 Indonesia Masters would be his last tournament. “Thank God because I was given the opportunity to play this far and all my dreams in the world of badminton have been achieved,” he said.

Hendra, who is a mixed doubles specialist, also thanked his partners in the match, including Markis Kido and Mohammad Ahsan.

“Thank you to all my partners, especially the late Kido and Ahsan who have fought together. Thank you to PBSI, my club Jaya Raya, all sponsors, especially Victor and Waroeng Steak&Shake, all men’s doubles coaches and friends,” said Hendra.
