4 Things Related to the Alleged Hacking of Indodax That Have Attracted Attention

Indodax CEO Oscar Darmawan said that all customer balances, both in rupiah and crypto assets, were not affected.

“We have checked customer balances, both Rupiah and crypto assets, and they were not affected, and trading balances were also not affected,” Oscar told Todaysgist, Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Oscar added that his party is currently still investigating further, but he ensured that customer funds are safe and not affected. When asked about the losses, Oscar replied that he would still investigate and would provide further information after the investigation was carried out.

4. Bappebti Asks Customers Not to Panic

Head of the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti), Kasan revealed that Bappebti had received a report that one of the Prospective Crypto Asset Physical Traders (CPFAK), namely PT Indodax Nasional Indonesia (Indodax) was suspected of experiencing hacking in the Crypto Asset transaction system.

Kasan said that Indodax is currently performing a complete system shutdown to ensure that all systems are operating properly and asked the public to remain calm.

“For this reason, Bappebti appeals to the public, especially Indodax customers, to remain calm and not panic,” explained Kasan in an official statement, quoted Thursday, September 12, 2024.

Kasan said, Bappebti coordinated and has summoned Indodax to ask for clarification regarding the case. Currently, Indodax is in the process of investigating the system that is suspected of being hacked.
