6 Year Barefoot Walk to Pakistan, Moto2 Racer Axel Pons: Happened Naturally
Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Former Moto2 racer Axel Pons attracted public attention after appearing in Pakistan. Axel Pons admitted to walking without shoes for 6 years. The racer from Spain admitted that his spiritual journey was carried out naturally.
“There is nothing special. It happened naturally,” said Axel Pons in a broadcast on the Pakistan Tourism YouTube channel.
Axel Pons previously competed on the circuit for 10 MotoGP seasons between 2008 and 2017. Pons recorded a best result of sixth place in the 2016 Italian Moto2.
However, now Axel Pons looks different. In a video uploaded by the Pakistan Tourism YouTube channel, Pons can be seen walking without shoes along the road. In the recording, he revealed that he had been walking without shoes for six years.
Another video uploaded by Wahaj Ali B’s YouTube channel shows Pons, now 33, sitting chatting with a child. When asked about his identity, he initially said the name “Isa”, but later explained that his birth name was Axel.
“My story is very long, but since I started walking three years ago, I decided to throw off all my burdens, carry a backpack and walk,” said Pons.
“About 15 months ago, when I felt ready, I decided to walk east, towards the sun. This is what I did last year, and it was very beautiful,” he added.
Axel Pons also explains his origins in a unique way. “I come from God, but I was born in Barcelona, Spain,” he said.
The process of transitioning from motorbike racing to this new life began when Pons began to question the purpose of a fast-paced racing lifestyle. “At some point, I started to question what the point was of living so fast,” he said.
“I started walking slower, slower, until finally I walked slowly, appreciating every detail of life,” said Axel Pons.
He emphasized that this spiritual journey was a natural process that led him to let go of all the burdens of life, seek peace, and unite with God.
“This is the way we train, by walking,” concluded Axel Pons.
