90% of Business Actors in Indonesia Rely on Chatting Services to Attract Customers

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta – WhatsApp once again held the WhatsApp Business Summit in Indonesia. This event also further solidified Indonesia’s position as a leader in the world’s business messaging trends.

At the event, Meta’s Country Director in Indonesia, Pieter Lydian, said that messaging has become an inseparable part of Indonesian society’s life.

He said that almost 90 percent of adult internet users in Indonesia send messages to businesses at least once a week. This number exceeds the global average of 79.4 percent.

Considering that 87% of Indonesian consumers prefer messaging as the primary way to communicate with businesses, it is important for business actors to utilize messaging platforms to interact with modern consumers,” said Pieter as quoted from an official statement, Saturday (24/8/2024).

Meta also collaborated with Boston Consulting Group to conduct a survey discussing the importance of messaging in Indonesian businesses. The survey involved 400 businesses and 30 in-depth interviews with businesses from various industries.

As a result, more than 90 percent of business people in Indonesia have utilized this service. It is said that many business people have integrated messaging into their entire business process, from the pre-sales stage to customer service.

These findings show that messaging is not just a communication tool, but also a primary channel for businesses to build closer relationships with customers.

One successful example of the use of WhatsApp Business in business in Indonesia is Kopi Kenangan. By integrating WhatsApp into its marketing strategy, Kopi Kenangan has succeeded in increasing customer engagement and driving sales.

Through social media ads that are directly connected to WhatsApp, customers can pre-order. Not only that, customers can also find products and redeem promo codes.

It was also stated that promotional notifications and updates sent via WhatsApp have proven effective in increasing the number of coffee orders by up to three times.
