ABCripto joins CVM Education Committee

On Tuesday, August 27, the Brazilian Cryptoeconomics Association (ABCripto) took an important step towards strengthening the sector by joining the Education Advisory Committee of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM).

The Committee is responsible for promoting and supporting projects that aim to improve the financial education standards of the Brazilian population. In this way, the group covers everything from basic concepts to the latest innovations in digital finance.

ABCripto’s inclusion in the Committee is a significant milestone for the advancement of the crypto economy in the country. Bernardo Srur, CEO of ABCripto, highlighted the importance of this new position:

“Being part of the CVM’s Education Advisory Committee reiterates the association’s representativeness for the cryptoeconomy in Brazil. It is another step towards having an increasingly modern, robust and organized sector, especially because we will be in relevant discussions alongside large entities that represent essential sectors of our economy,” said Srur.

ABCripto joins CVM committee

ABCripto joins other permanent members of the Committee, such as ABRASCA, ANBIMA, ABVCAP, ANCORD, APIMEC Brasil, B3, IBGC, IBRI and PLANEJAR. These organizations play an important role in guiding and educating investors. In this way, they contribute to the security and development of the Brazilian financial market.

The Superintendent of Investor Guidance and Sustainable Finance at CVM, Nathalie Vidual, commented on the importance of ABCripto joining the Committee.

“The entry of ABCripto into the CVM’s Education Advisory Committee is another important step towards strengthening financial education initiatives involving digital literacy and cryptoeconomics. The CVM has been seeking actions to further modernize the securities market and advance the digital economy, and the publication of this Resolution reinforces this work.”

ABCripto’s participation in the Committee reinforces a partnership that has been consolidating throughout 2023. Earlier this year, ABCripto and CVM signed a technical cooperation agreement focused on the development of financial education.

This agreement aims to create campaigns and educational materials that expand the population’s understanding of new financial technologies, such as decentralized finance (DeFi), blockchain and digital assets.

Among the actions already taken, the launch of a glossary of terms related to cryptocurrencies and digital assets stands out. The goal is to democratize access to knowledge about the digital economy. This glossary is an essential tool to help both investors and the general public better understand the technical terms and dynamics of this new ecosystem.
