AFF U-19 Cup 2024 Results Indonesian National Team vs Philippines: Young Garuda Feasts on Half a Dozen Goals

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta – The Indonesian national team celebrated goals against the Philippines in the Group A match of the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup at Gelora Bung Tomo, Wednesday (17/7/2024) evening WIB. Indra Sjafri's troops won by half a dozen, aka 6-0.

Arlyansyah Abdulmanan (2), Iqbal Gwijangge (2), Kadek Arel, and Jens Raven registered their names on the scoreboard for Garuda Muda. This result brought the national team to the top of the standings, ahead of Timor Leste in goal productivity.

Indonesia took the initiative as soon as the match started. However, the Philippines threatened occasionally.

Alfarezzi Buffon made a dangerous tackle to stop Banatao Utu Abang in the penalty area. Luckily the referee did not give a penalty.

Indonesia finally took the lead in the 13th minute. Riski Afrisal and Dony Tri Pamungkas collaborated to penetrate the right side of the Philippines defense. Dony then sent a perfect pass that was not wasted by Arlyansyah Abdulmanan.

It didn't take long for Garuda Muda to double their lead. After his throw-in was cleared, Mufli Hidayat sent a cross that met the head of Iqbal Gwijangge. Indonesia took a 2-0 lead in the 22nd minute.

The Indonesian U-19 national team was not satisfied with that. Arkhan Kaka's kick still hit the goal post. Continued by Arlyansyah Abdulmanan's effort which went wide.

The third goal arrived in the 29th minute. Figo Dennis' corner was headed by Kadek Arel to the far post which the opposing goalkeeper could not anticipate.

Arkhan Kaka was still curious. Unfortunately his header also went wide. The Persis Solo player also witnessed his shot from the rebound still being thwarted by the goalkeeper.

It was Iqbal Gwijangge who scored the second goal. He continued Alfarezzi Buffon's header to emphasize Indonesia's dominance in the 43rd minute.

Kadek Arel almost scored his second goal in injury time. Indonesia had to be satisfied with a 4-0 lead at the break.
