Against Persik, PSS Threatened Without Midfielder Betinho

Solo, Todaysgist.com – PSS Sleman has the potential to appear without foreign midfielder, Betinho, when facing Persik Kediri in the second week of Liga 1 at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Monday (19/8) at 15.30 WIB.

As revealed on the club’s official website on Sunday (18/8/2024), PSS Sleman coach Wagner Lopes stated that Betinho was still in the recovery process after suffering an injury during preparations for this season’s competition.

“We hope he can play in the next match against Persik Kediri. However, it all depends on Betinho’s readiness in the recovery process and whether he is ready to be played,” said Lopes.

The Japanese coach of Brazilian blood also stated that Betinho’s position would likely be replaced by another player who would get the opportunity to show his abilities.

Lopes is aware that this situation is a challenge for PSS Sleman in the upcoming match, but he is confident that the team nicknamed Javan Eagle it still has a chance to achieve positive results if it plays with discipline and high fighting spirit.

“This is an opportunity for other players to prove themselves. We have a solid team, and I believe all the players will give their best performance on the pitch. We must be focused and remain confident even though Betinho is absent,” Lopes explained.

Lopes also emphasized that injuries and card accumulation are part of football. They must be able to adapt and find other solutions. According to him, there must be other players who are ready to fill the position and give the best contribution to the team.

In the match against Persik Kediri, PSS Sleman is determined to get their first points in the Indonesian League 1 competition this season after experiencing a 0-1 defeat in the first week when they met Persebaya Surabaya.
