Against Saudi Arabia, Indonesian National Team Players Ready to Work Hard

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – Indonesian National Team defender, Jay Idzes, expressed the readiness of the Indonesian National Team to face Saudi Arabia in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers which will be held at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah, Friday (6/9/2024) at 01.00 WIB.

Idzes admitted that Saudi Arabia is a strong team that should be watched out for, starting from the game, player composition, to the coach. However, Idzes believes that nothing is impossible in a football match.

“This is football. So, anything can happen, like Saudi Arabia beating Argentina 2-1 in the 2022 World Cup,” Idzes said, quoted from the official PSSI website, Thursday (5/9/2024).

Idzes believes that the Garuda players will work hard to perform optimally and fight for a common target, which is to win. Moreover, this is a golden opportunity to be able to appear in the 2026 World Cup.

Indonesian national team goalkeeper Maarten Vincent Paes is also confirmed to be able to strengthen the Indonesian national team against Saudi Arabia. This was conveyed by the national team manager Sumardji after the Match Coordination Meeting in Jeddah.

“When the MCM is delivered and approved, Paes can play in the match,” said Sumardji.

Indonesian National Team Coach Shin Tae-yong added that even though they are in a difficult group, he believes his players will not give up.
