Ahead of the Australian MotoGP, this is the MotoGP rider standings
Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The 2024 MotoGP race will continue on 18-20 October 2024 in Australia. The Australian MotoGP will be held at the Phillip Island Circuit.
The previous MotoGP race was held in Japan at the Motegi Circuit. In the Japanese MotoGP, two-time MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia won the double. He won the main race on Sunday (6/10/2024), and won in the sprint race which took place on Saturday (5/10/2024).
This result cuts the difference in points from his rival Jorge Martin in the 2024 MotoGP standings to 10 points. The Ducati rider had dominated the practice session and won the sprint the day before. In the main race, Bagnaia managed to hold off Martin for 20 laps to achieve his eighth win of the season for the first time in his career.
Martin, who finished in second place, won 392 points. Meanwhile, Bagnaia is in second place with 382 points, with four races remaining in the season. Marc Marquez finished in third place in Japan and is now in fourth place with 311 points. The third position in the standings is occupied by Enea Bastianini from Ducati Lenovo Team with 313 points.
The fifth to 10th positions in the standings are filled by Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder, Maverick Vinales, Franco Morbidelli, Marco Bezzecchi, and Fabio Di Giannantonio.
