Ahead of the Indonesian National Team’s match in China, Referee Omar Al Ali’s Instagram is locked
Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Ahead of the match between the Indonesian National Team at China’s home ground in the continuation of the 2026 World Cup qualifying for the Asian zone, third round of Group C, the social media of referee Omar Al Ali, who will officiate the match, is much sought after by netizens from Indonesia.
These netizens from Indonesia apparently wanted to give a message to the referee from the United Arab Emirates to act fairly when leading the match at the Qingdao Youth Football Stadium, Qingdao, Tuesday (15/10/2024). They want the 36 year old referee not to be like referee Ahmed Abu Bakar Al Kaf who officiated the Bahrain vs Indonesia match in Riffa last week.
The referee from Oman was considered to be very detrimental to Indonesia. One decision that was considered detrimental to Indonesia was when he added time to the 100th minute of the match even though on the scoreboard there was only six minutes added time.
Indonesia fell behind after Mohamed Marhoon scored a goal in the 15th minute. However, Indonesia managed to turn things around thanks to goals from Ragnar Oratmangoen at the end of the first half and Rafael Struick in the 74th minute. However, at the end of the match Indonesia’s goal was broken through by Mohamed Marhoon who scored his second goal in this match. Bahrain’s goal that equalized occurred in the 90+9 minute.
The Indonesian national team also felt robbed in this match. The victory in sight was dashed because of Bahrain’s second goal which was also scored by Mohamed Mahroon. Indonesia is now only in fifth position out of six Group C participants with three points.
However, currently the account belonging to Omar Al Ali, who will lead the China vs Indonesia match, is locked. Indonesian netizens were unable to convey their “message” to the referee from the UAE.

Apart from that, he was also trusted to lead the World Cup qualifying match for Asia zone Group C when Bahrain beat hosts Australia 1-0. In that match he issued one red card and five yellow cards.
In the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian zone, Al Ali was also the match referee when hosts Iran beat Vietnam 3-1. In that match, he only issued two yellow cards.
