Apple Updates Flashlight App Look in iOS 18, More Intuitive and Functional

One of the features that attracts attention is mirroring the iPhone display directly to a Mac computer.

After being announced, the feature will be available to some users who are registered in the Apple Developer program and have downloaded the beta version of iOS 18 and MacOS Sequoia.

Quoted from EngadgetThursday (6/27/2024), the first public beta of both operating systems is expected to arrive in July 2024, but it is still unclear whether the feature will be available in the first beta version of the OS.

However, the feature is reportedly not available for the European region. The reason is that Apple has been under the spotlight of the European Union regarding the Digital Market Act (DMA) regarding user privacy and data security.

If the user's Apple account is already registered in the Apple Developer program, they can download it directly from the Settings app. Just to note, installing a beta version of the operating system causes some issues on the iPhone.

After downloading the OS, you will be able to control your iPhone from your computer or laptop with MacOS. The feature will also display notifications from your iPhone directly to your Mac.

The iPhone display on the Mac will then run at a frame rate of 60FPS. Then, the iPhone display on MacOS will operate in vertical mode.

Later, if the user runs an application that has an orientation landscape, Like games, the iPhone's display will adjust to the application being opened.
