Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni also indicated that there will be some changes to the starting lineup against Peru, giving the reserve players a chance to get some playing time.

“We are satisfied with the results we have achieved and we can enjoy these days and give playing minutes to young players. I think it is fair if players who have not yet had playing minutes come onto the pitch,” he said.

Exequiel Palacios, Guido Rodriguez, Valentin Carboni and Alejandro Garnacho are among the players yet to feature in the tournament. Sources say Garnacho is one of the players most likely to make the field against Peru.

Argentina have little stake in the match against Peru. They are already guaranteed to advance to the knockout stages after beating Canada and Chile in their previous two matches.
