Arief Dwi Qualifies for Top 32 in Men’s Individual Event

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – Indonesian archery athlete, Arief Dwi Pangestu, successfully advanced to the last 32 rounds of the archery category. recurve men’s individual at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

According to the official website of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Thursday (25/7/2024), Arief Dwi Pangestu is ranked 40th in the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifying round with 656 points out of a total of 720 points.

In the round of 32, the 20-year-old will face Taiwanese archer Tang Chih-Chun, who was ranked 25th with 665 points in the qualifying round.

The qualifying round was dominated by two South Korean athletes, Kim Woojin and Kim Je Deok. Kim Woojin achieved the highest ranking with 686 points, while Kim Je Deok recorded 682 points (season best).

In third place was German athlete Florian Unruh, with 681 points, followed by Indian archer Dhiraj Bommadevara, and South Korean athlete Lee Wooseok.

With the results achieved by Arief Dwi Pangestu in the qualifying round, the team mixed Indonesia is ranked 12th with a total of 1326 points. These points are obtained from the accumulation of individual scores of men and women with the highest points in the qualifying round.

Arief, as the only Indonesian representative in the number recurve men’s individual, contributed 656 points, while Diananda Choirunisa contributed 670 points in the number recurve individual women.

Previously, in the qualifying round, Diananda Choirunisa managed to rank sixth with 670 points (personal best). Rezza Octavia is ranked 32nd with 650 points (best season), and Syifa Nur Afifah Kamal in 43rd place with 640 points (personal best).
