Arne Slot Denies Rumors Interested in Recruiting Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Coach Arne Slot has denied reports that his team is targeting Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in Liverpool’s transfer plans this January.

Slot emphasized that such transfer rumors are a common thing that appear every transfer period, but not all of them are true, including regarding Kvaratskhelia.

“This is something that happens all the time. In nine out of 10 cases, or even 99 out of 100, at the end of the transfer window, most of these stories turn out to be untrue. So what do I need to comment on? Such rumors continue to circulate, but I don’t have any comments,” said Slot, quoted from the club’s official website, Saturday (11/1/2024).

Speculation about Kvaratskhelia arose after journalists The AthleticDavid Ornstein, reports on the nicknamed team The Reds may consider the Georgian in a Liverpool transfer in January 2025. However, Ornstein also noted that Liverpool are not actually actively looking for a new winger, despite recognizing the great potential that Kvaratskhelia has shown since joining Napoli in the 2022/2023 season.

In his report, Ornstein said that Liverpool would “probably” compete with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in chasing the 23-year-old’s signature.

“Liverpool could consider signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia if he leaves Napoli in January. #LFC are not actively looking for a winger, but admire this player’s talent and are monitoring his situation. “They may compete if market opportunities arise,” Ornstein wrote via his official account on the X platform, regarding Liverpool’s transfer.
