Arsenal Legend Suggests Arteta Immediately Buy a New Striker

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Arsenal legend Theo Walcott advised coach Mikel Arteta to hunt for a new striker if he wants to win a trophy this season.

The reason is, Arsenal have just been eliminated from the FA Cup after being defeated by Manchester United on penalties at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (12/1/2025).

In the Premier League, Arsenal is in second place with 40 points, the same as Nottingham Forest below and six points adrift of Liverpool as the top of the standings.

Quoted from BBC Sport, according to Theo Walcott, Arsenal really needs a new striker who is really sharp.

“As people have said before, Arsenal need a striker at the moment. “Arsenal’s game has changed, from initially having an interesting front line to watch to a boring game at the Emirates Stadium,” said Theo Walcott.

Walcott added that the new striker being sought must be able to bring about a change from the way Arsenal currently plays.

“You need players to do something different and they haven’t got that at the moment,” Walcott added.

Criticism did not only come from Theo Walcott, Alan Shearer, the Premier League’s top scorer of all time, has even expressed the same opinion since the start of the season. According to him, a sharp striker for Arsenal is an investment that must be made.

“I said it at the start of the season, I feel that’s what they need and I think it would probably be detrimental for them not to invest in that position,” said Shearer regarding Arsenal needing a striker.
