Asking PBSI to Create 2028 Olympic Roadmap, Minister of Youth and Sports Says Government Supports Badminton 100 Percent

Surabaya, Todaysgist.com – Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo said that the government fully supports the badminton branch which will soon be led by the new general chairman of the Central Board of the All Indonesia Badminton Association (PP PBSI) Fadil Imran.

“I want Mr. Fadil to make a roadmap towards the 2028 Olympics from today. From there we will make strategic planning and I want to say that the government fully supports 100 percent. God willing, the budget for badminton towards the Olympics, the SEA Games first, and the Asian Games, I promise we will support it,” said Minister of Youth and Sports Dito after closing the 24th/2024 PBSI National Conference at the Empire Palace Hotel, Surabaya, Saturday (10/8/2024).

Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo said that his party is committed to continue supporting the national badminton organization. Moreover, badminton is still considered a superior and mainstay branch of Indonesia.

“To support sports like badminton, the government is very capable and has a very high commitment. This requires communication, collaboration, and also a roadmap that PBSI must immediately compile. So there are medium, short, and long-term plans,” said Dito.

He hopes that PBSI’s collaboration with the private sector can also be embraced. The more people who help, he said, the more opportunities there will be.

“I also encourage the elected Ketum, I have said this many times, so that the Cipayung National Training Center can be modernized immediately,” hoped Minister of Youth and Sports Dito.

Previously, after being elected by acclamation as the general chairman of the Central Board of the All Indonesia Badminton Association (PP PBSI) for the 2024-2028 term in the PBSI national conference (munas) XXIV/2024, M Fadil Imran stated that the organization he leads will be based on PBSI Persatuan and PBSI Gotong Royong.

“Let’s realize a PBSI that is not divided. No more factions. We are all one for Indonesia. This is what I call PBSI unity and PBSI mutual cooperation. With the vision of realizing badminton as a source of pride and joy for the nation,” said Fadil Imran.

By acclamation, Fadil Imran, who ran as the sole candidate, was elected and given a mandate by 34 PBSI provincial administrators (pengprov) out of the 38 pengprov who attended the 24th national conference.
