Becoming the Key Caretaker of League 1, Rans Makes a Reshuffle

– Rans Nusantara made a major overhaul after reaping disappointing results in League 1 last season. They have decided not to continue with four players and sacked their coaching staff including head coach Rodrigo Santana.

The four players whose contracts were no longer renewed were Ikhsan Nul Zikrak, Defri Riski, Kurniawan Karman and David Laly. The official announcement of the release of the players was made by Rans Nusantara in the club’s official Instagram upload @rans.nusantara, Thursday (4/5/2023).

The club, which was based at Pakansari Stadium in League 1 last season, has thanked the four players for the contribution of the four players in the 2022/23 season.

Of these four players, so far only Ikhsan Nul Zikrak has received a new port, namely Borneo FC. The East Kalimantan club announced the recruitment of Ikhsan a few days ago.

Not in the player sector, Rans has also revamped the coaching sector. It is certain that Rodrigo Santana and his coaching staff will no longer manage the club owned by the famous Raffi Ahmad.

Apart from Rodrigo, the other members of the coaching staff who were released were Assistant Coach Neto Pajolla, Physical Coach Lydio De Souza and translator Claudio De Jesus.

In the 2022/23 season 1 League competition, Rans Nusantara FC occupies the lowest position. They were only able to collect the bottom position of the final League 1 standings with a score of 19 points from 34 matches and a goal difference of -40.

The Prestige Phoenix squad was noted to have started the Indonesian League 1 last season under the command of coach Rahmad Darmawan and stumbled until halfway through the season.

Entering the middle of the season, management decided to replace Rahmad Darmawan with Rodrigo Santana, but the presence of the Brazilian coach was not able to improve the performance of Makan Konate and his colleagues until the end of the 2022/2023 season.
