“Our team detected a cyberattack on June 22, 2024, causing unauthorized withdrawals from our platform. Only a portion of the 10 cryptocurrency balances in hot wallets were affected, while the majority of assets held in cold wallets remained safe,” the company said in a statement .

“BTCURK's financial strength is well above the affected amount, ensuring user assets are not affected,” the exchange explained.

“A detailed investigation is ongoing, and official authorities have been contacted. As a precautionary measure, cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals are suspended until our work is complete. Affected cryptocurrency operations will be restored in stages as our cybersecurity teams complete their work,” he explained.

In a follow-up status update on Sunday, Btcturk announced that deposits and withdrawals for all ERC20 cryptocurrencies on the ERC20 network have reopened.
