Breaking Mike Tyson’s record to become the oldest boxer in the world, Oliver McCall aims for a duel against Jake Paul
Nashville, Beritasatu.com – Oliver McCall was named the oldest boxer in the world, after he won by TKO in a professional boxing match against Stacy Frazier. After his victory, Oliver McCall is now targeting a much younger opponent, namely YouTuber Jake Paul.
Jake Paul just won on points against former world boxing champion Mike Tyson in last weekend’s fight.
Oliver McCall, who is 59 years old, has been named the world’s oldest boxer, beating Mike Tyson, who was 58 years old when he fought against Jake Paul.
In the fight at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville, Tennessee, Tuesday (19/11/2024), Stacy Frazier started better. He fired many punches at Oliver McCall’s stomach.
In response, the world’s oldest boxer, aged 59, attacked more with the jab, before dropping his opponent with a right hook.
In the second round, Oliver McCall continued to throw the same punches, causing his opponent to fall to the floor for the second time.
Stacy Frazier was able to stand, but was forced to the corner of the ring, struggling to defend herself, and then collapsed. This time, the 54-year-old boxer couldn’t get to his feet before the referee counted to 10 and McCall was awarded a TKO victory.
“I was the first person to beat the youngest heavyweight champion, Tyson. “I am now the oldest boxer in the world to fight and win a professional boxing match,” said Oliver McCall proudly.
McCall actually never officially fought with Tyson, but only became a training partner for this boxer nicknamed “Iron Mike”.
At the age of 59, Oliver McCall admits he doesn’t want to stop and is ready to challenge Jake Paul. “In my next fight, I will lose weight to compete more technically. I hit very hard and defended well. “If I lose about 5 kg in weight, I will be ready to face any opponent,” said Oliver McCall.
“I will beat Paul to avenge Tyson. That would be great,” he said.
Oliver McCall was a heavyweight boxing star, culminating in a TKO victory over Lennox Lewis to win the WBC title in England in September 1994. He defended his title against Larry Holmes, then lost to Frank Bruno in 1995.
In his professional career, the world’s oldest boxer Oliver McCall lost 14 times and won 60 matches, including 39 knockout wins.
