Cardano, one of the main blockchain platforms, is about to carry out the biggest hard fork since its creation, bringing updates that promise to revolutionize the way the network works.
The Cardano development team made significant improvements to the protocol this week, with the aim of improving the core technology, scalability and governance, preparing the system for more fluid and secure operation for its users.
Among the most important updates, Cardano’s core technology team advanced the node version to v.10.1.2. This change brought improvements to the platform’s commands, largely based on feedback from the community, including stake pool operators.

The DB Sync team, in turn, finalized the pre-release version v.13.6.0.0, which is compatible with the v.10.1.0 node, facilitating data synchronization more effectively.
Additionally, the Cardano team used a decentralized approach to implement the governance workload using cardano-cli, promoting a reliable and scalable system. This effort also included plans to reduce submission overhead and achieve linear performance as votes per transaction increase, which reinforces the platform’s governance structure.
Scalability updates were also highlighted, with the work of the Mithril team, which advanced the development of the new distribution version, 2445.0-pre.
They have added reliable support for Cardano node v.10.1, as well as improving the aggregator system and subscriber registration, enabling a more robust and efficient network. Developers created a nightly routine in CI to ensure backwards compatibility, ensuring that future updates do not break previous versions.
Since Cardano entered the Voltaire era, its final phase of decentralization, the platform has consolidated itself as one of the most participatory networks on the market.
Governance is now completely in the hands of ADA holders, who have the power to vote on network decisions. This model is already showing results: since the beginning of November, the number of unique delegators has jumped from 13,835 to 16,902, and voting delegations have increased from 15,060 to 18,366.
