Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Reveals BSSN Strategy to Strengthen Cyber Security After PDNS 2 Ransomware Attack
Previously, the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kementerian Kominfo) had just provided the latest update regarding the development of the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) case.
Telkom Network & IT Solution Director, Herlan Wijanarko said several efforts were being made to restore PDNS 2 Surabaya.
“Since the incident until today, we have been assisted by BSSN, Kominfo and the tenants in trying to do it. recovery with the resources we have,” said Herlan at a press conference, Wednesday (26/6/2024).
However, he said that data that had been encrypted could no longer be retrieved by Kominfo.
“Some encrypted data can no longer be decrypted.recovery again,” he said.
Even though the data that was taken cannot be retrieved again, Herlan said that some data from the National Data Center tenants still has backup.
“We identified that there are still 44 tenants who are…backup“,” he said. “We are trying to reactivate the affected services,” he added.
Not only that, Herlan also said that the Ministry of Communication and Information together with Telkom Sigma and BSSN have contacted the affected tenants.
“We are contacting the affected tenants to ensure they have the data. backup” said Herlan.
Anticipating data that can no longer be backed up, Herlan said that the Ministry of Communication and Information together with BSSN and Telkom Sigma will recreate a new PDNS.
“We will make environment only if the affected tenant data cannot be returned,” he said, closing the statement.
