Danny Kosasih Passes Away, Still Taking Care of Basketball Until the End of His Life

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta The chairman of the Indonesian Basketball Association (PP Perbasi) Danny Kosasih passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 in Jakarta. Danny was still busy thinking about basketball until the end of his life.

Danny Kosasih died at the age of 69 due to heart disease. Danny took his last breath after undergoing a heart ring installation operation at Medistra Hospital.

Before he died, Danny was still busy taking care of basketball. Perbasi Secretary General Nirmala Dewi said that Danny continued to discuss national basketball while being treated in the hospital until before entering the operating room.

Danny discussed everything from the basketball training plan with former Lakers trainer Phil Handy, the Perbasi National Conference to the 2024 National Sports Week or PON in Aceh and North Sumatra which happened to be underway. Danny even planned to go to PON.

“Yes, we actually feel a great loss, very shocked because what we actually see in our eyes, the chairman of Perbasi has no problems (illness) at all. What we usually call Susuk has no problems at all, very healthy. Even when we were waiting at the hospital yesterday, taking people together, Susuk really laughed with us, very happy. So when we saw what was going on, there was no problem and we also discussed Perbasi, discussed our programs,” said Nirmala to the media at the Funeral Home.

“I think this Friday we have a press conference regarding the new Perbasi program, then there are also many things that we are still preparing, also the preparation for the national conference is still very detailed. He asked about the preparations for the national conference, about the children, what are the PON Aceh like, have we ordered tickets to go to PON Aceh too.”
