Defeating Singaporean Players, Mutiara Isn’t Satisfied

Nanchang, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian women’s singles player Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari defeated Chia

Even though he won, Mutiara admitted that he was not satisfied with his performance. Because, there is still a lot that needs to be evaluated.

“In terms of the game as a whole, there is still a lot that needs to be evaluated. Today I still made a lot of my own mistakes, the ball that shouldn’t have died ended up dead,” said Mutiara at the Nanchang International Sports Center Gymnasium, China, Tuesday (8/10/2024 ).

This is the first time the two teams have met in a match. “This is the first meeting, so you need to adapt to your opponent’s way of playing,” continued Mutiara.

Mutiara said there were many variations he wanted to do in the match against the Singaporean player.

He admitted that he didn’t need to adapt to the field because he had already played in the Suhandinata Cup. “I wanted to do too many variations because this was my first match, and I was trying it out. However, it was quite detrimental. I have to improve the quality of my shots in the next match,” said Mutiara.

Mutiara’s victory was followed by another women’s single, Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi. Dhinda beat Romania’s Denisa-Maria Muscalu 21-4, 21-6.

“Compared to yesterday, today I feel better playing. In terms of adaptation, it’s better because yesterday I also played on the same field. In terms of movement and steps, it’s OK too,” explained Dhinda.

“Tomorrow against Xu Wen Jing from China, it will not be an easy opponent, but I will try my best,” he promised.

Apart from Mutiara and Dhinda, Sausan Dwi Ramadhani and Kavitha Nadjwa Aulia also advanced to the next round at the 2024 World Junior Badminton Championships.

Sausan beat Maria Wilkinson (Portugal) 21-3 and 21-11, while Kavitha eliminated Poland’s Kaja Ziolkowska 20-22, 21-15 and 21-8.
