Defeating West Sumatra, East Java Men’s Volleyball Team Leads Temporary Standings

Deli Serdang, Todaysgist.com – The East Java (Jatim) men’s volleyball team defeated West Sumatra (Sumbar) with a score of 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, and 25-23) in the Group A match of PON XXI at the GOR Voli Indoor Sport Center Sumut, Deli Serdang, Friday (13/9/2024). With this victory, East Java leads the temporary Group A standings with two wins and seven points.

However, Central Java can still pass East Java in the temporary standings of group A. Because, Central Java has only competed twice with two wins. Central Java previously defeated East Java 3-2.

East Java will get a break on Saturday (14/9/2024), while West Sumatra will face North Sumatra (Sumut) at 19.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, the North Sumatra men’s volleyball team defeated Bali in the Group A match of PON XXI at the GOR Sumut Sport Center, Deli Serdang, Friday night. North Sumatra won 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 25-20, and 25-21) over Bali.

In pool B, West Java defeated Aceh 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, and 25-10). West Java is firmly at the top of the standings with 6 points from two matches. Below it, DKI Jakarta also has the same points and number of matches.

In the same place, the DKI Jakarta women’s volleyball team swept all three matches in the preliminary round of the AA group of PON XXI after defeating the host North Sumatra, Friday afternoon. DKI won 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, and 25-13).
