“We and all Indonesian tourism people express our appreciation for the success of holding the world-class sports tourism event MotoGP Mandalika in 2024,” said Deputy Minister of Tourism and Tourism Angela when attending the third day of the Mandalika MotoGP, which was race day, Sunday (29/9/2024), at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela said that the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 in Mandalika would not only be a world-class sports tourism event but also a great promotional space for Indonesian tourism through the nation branding “Wonderful Indonesia” to the world.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is collaborating with MGPA (Mandalika circuit manager) and Dorna Sports (MotoGP commercial rights holder) to again place Wonderful Indonesia’s nation branding at various strategic points both inside and outside the Mandalika circuit track. Such as signage, banners and others.
Including the parade truck used by racers to greet MotoGP fans in Mandalika.
Apart from collaborating in promoting Indonesian tourism, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is also collaborating in supporting the preparation of facilities and infrastructure for the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP.
“MotoGP, which is broadcast live by more than 100 television channels in the world, will certainly provide a wide reach for Wonderful Indonesia’s nation branding,” said Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela.
The 2024 Mandalika MotoGP will also be filled with various cultural performances in the form of Indonesian dances performed before the MotoGP class race begins.
Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela also hopes that holding the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP will have a broad impact on the tourism industry and creative economy, including MSMEs, exceeding last year’s achievements.
It is known that the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP event attracted more than 102 thousand spectators and had an impact on increasing national GDP by IDR 3.59 to IDR 4.30 trillion.
“Together with related parties, we will also deploy a team to conduct a study of the impact of holding the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP,” said Angela.
The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 (MotoGP Mandalika) race session itself was very exciting. Pramac Racing racer, Jorge Martin emerged as champion after being the fastest when crushing 27 laps of asphalt on the Mandalika circuit which is 4.3 kilometers long.
