Djarum Kudus Wins Fifth Title in the Inter-Club Championship

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The duet of Daniel Marthin/Leo Rolly Carnando ensured Djarum Kudus’s victory in the mixed team final between clubs at the Wondr by BNI PBSI National Championship 2024. Djarum Kudus became champion after defeating the Exist Badminton Club at the Jakarta State University (UNJ) GOR, Rawamangun, East Jakarta, Sunday (8 /12/2024).

Daniel/Leo became the deciders after winning over Exist Badminton Club Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Yeremia Erich Yotje Yacob Rambitan with a score of 21-15, 17-21 and 21-9.

In the final match of this inter-club championship, Daniel/Leo, who played in the third match, admitted that they were trying to overcome the pressure considering that their club was already leading 2-0. After being careless in the second game, Daniel/Leo were able to take the lead in the third game and finally won in 1 hour 6 minutes.

“We try to be united with each other on the field. “When we fell behind in the second game, we tried to get up to finally win,” said Leo, a player who plays at the badminton national training ground.

In the final match of the club championship, Djarum Kudus opened the scoring through Rinov Rivaldy/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti who won over Zaidan Arrafi Awal Nabawi/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu with a score of 21-17 and 21-18.

Djarum Kudus widened its lead to 2-0 through Richie Duta Richardo who won over Exist Badminton Club’s men’s singles, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo with a score of 21-12 and 21-12.

With this result, Djarum Kudus collected its fifth title after previously winning in the 1994, 1998, 2010 and 2016 editions.

Daniel/Leo is happy to be part of the glory of his club, Djarum Kudus. Both of them hope that their achievements at the 2024 PBSI National Championship will make them more confident when looking at the tournament in 2025.

“We are happy to be able to play optimally and bring Djarum Kudus champions. We are motivated when we get the opportunity to appear to defend the team. “After this I will focus on my partner and vice versa, Leo will also focus on his partner,” said Daniel.

For Exist Badminton Club, this defeat meant they had to settle for being runners up after previously losing in the final to Jaya Raya in the 2022 edition with a score of 0-3.
