DJP Confirms No Indication of Taxpayer Data Leaks

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta – The public is once again abuzz with allegations of data leaks occurring in Indonesia. This time, the alleged data leak came from taxpayer data.

The alleged data leak was claimed by an anonymous account claiming to be Bjorka. Through its upload, the account claimed to have hacked and stolen taxpayer data, including that of President Joko Widodo, ministers, and other high-ranking officials.

Responding to the alleged case, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) also gave a response. This was conveyed by the Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations of DGT Dwi Astuti.

According to Dwi, the Directorate General of Taxes has conducted research related to the problem and said that there was no indication of a direct data leak from the Directorate General of Taxes information system.

“Data log access “In the last six years, there have been no indications of direct data leaks from the DGT information system,” said Dwi in a press release received on Friday (20/9/2024).

He further stated that the scattered data structure is not a data structure related to the implementation of taxpayers’ tax rights and fulfillment of their tax obligations.

Following up on the alleged data leak, DJP confirmed that it has coordinated with the Ministry of Communication and Information, BSSN, and the National Police.

The DGT is also committed to always maintaining the confidentiality and security of Taxpayer data properly, in the DGT information system and infrastructure. Not only that, the DGT will also continue to improve data security and protection.

This is done by evaluating and improving data governance and information systems through system security and security awareness.

“DGT appeals to all taxpayers to help maintain the security of their respective data, including by updating antivirus, changing passwords regularly, and avoiding accessing links or downloading suspicious files,” said Dwi.

Dwi also asked for the public’s assistance to immediately report to the DGT if they find any suspected DGT data leaks. Reporting can be done through the Tax Ring 1500200, [email protected], the complaint site, or wise.kemenkeu.go.id.
