Egyptian Wrestler Arrested by Paris Police for Touching Cafe Customer’s Buttocks

Paris, Todaysgist.com – Egyptian Olympic wrestler Mohamed “Kesho” Ibrahim was arrested in Paris on sexual assault charges. The Paris prosecutor’s office released a statement saying Kesho was arrested at around 5 a.m. local time on Friday (9/8/2024).

“A man born in March 1998 in Egypt who was a wrestler in the Olympic delegation was arrested in front of the Oz cafe,” the Paris prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

It is understood that he was arrested for allegedly touching another customer’s buttocks at the cafe. The Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC) confirmed that Kesho, who won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, had been arrested.

The EOC added that he would be investigated by an ethics committee and could face a lifetime ban.

“If the allegations are proven, the wrestler will face permanent suspension and be banned from participating in domestic and international competitions,” the EOC said.

Kesho was previously defeated by Hasrat Jafarov of Azerbaijan in the first round of the men’s 67kg Greco-Roman wrestling on Wednesday (7/8/2024). The EOC said he had been given permission to leave the Egyptian camp to watch his heavyweight final but did not return and turned off his mobile phone.
