On the other hand, Elon Musk became the target of netizens for teasing WhatsApp again through uploads to his X account.

In his upload on May 25 2024, Elon Musk wrote, “WhatsApp exports user data every night. Some people still think (WhatsApp) is safe.”

He tweeted this upload not without reason. He quoted another user X's upload which summarized the 12 latest news. The last point shows information that WhatsApp exports user data every night.

“WhatsApp exports user data every night, the data is analyzed and used for targeted advertising, making users their products, not customers,” wrote one user X's tweet.

Quoting The News.com, Sunday (26/5/2024), WhatsApp has not responded to Elon Musk's accusations. However, WABetaInfo, a website that provides various information about WhatsApp, uploaded a response to Elon Musk's accusations on the X platform.

“It's easy to blame WhatsApp when you have a product to promote, such as the X messaging application and end-to-end encryption. This is the main reason Elon Musk often shares disinformation related to WhatsApp,” wrote the WABetaInfo account.

WABetaInfo added his tweet. “WhatsApp does not share user data every night for advertising reasons. WhatsApp has a local backup feature on Android that is always on their device. Users can verify this using a traffic analysis tool to check their HTTP requests.”
