Erick Thohir Promises to Develop the Indonesian National Beach Football Team to Achieve Achievements
Legian, Beritasatu.com – PSSI General Chair (Ketum) Erick Thohir promised to encourage the Indonesian Beach Football National Team to achieve achievements at the Southeast Asian and Asian levels. He also emphasized that he did not want to differentiate between the national football teams in the country.
Erick emphasized that the Indonesian National Beach Football Team must have a clear target. He conveyed this when attending the opening of the National Round of the Indonesian Beach Ball Cup which took place at Genah Melati Beach, Legian, Bali, on Friday (13/12/2024).
“We will continue to encourage the Indonesian National Beach Soccer Team to be of better quality so that it can achieve achievements in Southeast Asia and Asia. I have to continue to push, without making any distinctions, but everyone must have a target,” he said.
Erick also believes that the Indonesian National Beach Football Team has competitiveness, especially Indonesian beach football. Apart from that, beach football also has the potential to improve the country’s tourism sector.
“We believe that beach football in Indonesia has great potential if it collaborates with tourism. Beach football can be an important part of development sportainment in Indonesia,” he explained.
As is known, the beach ball cup tournament is an effort by PSSI and the Indonesian Beach Football Association (ASPI) to develop progress and passion for football in the country. Through this moment, they integrated sports with tourism.
It is hoped that the Indonesian National Beach Soccer Team will have a good ranking. Erick also wants the beach soccer event to be further developed in the following years.
“ASPI must focus on increasing the ranking of the Indonesian National Beach Soccer Team, while leaving the beach soccer competition alone private sector who manages. In future years, this event will also have to be improvised a lot. Beach soccer is what it has to be sportainment,” said Erick.
