Estella Loupattij and Noa Leatomu Officially Become Indonesian Citizens, Erick Thohir: New Ammunition for the Women’s National Team
Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir said that the Indonesian women’s national football team had new ammunition following the taking of the oath and pledge of allegiance to the citizenship of women’s football players Estella Loupattij and Noa Leatomu.
Both of them legally became Indonesian citizens after taking the oath at the Indonesian Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark, Friday (8/11/2024).
“The naturalization of Estella and Noa is a new chapter for Indonesian women’s football, which we are designed to build through the women’s national team. The hope is that they will become new ammunition in the AFF Women’s Cup. With the presence of these two, we have a (women’s) team with a young age. They can developing for the next two to three years,” said Erick Thohir on Saturday (9/11/2024).
Erick did not forget to appreciate many parties, starting from President Prabowo Subianto, Commission Civil Registry (Dukcapil) of the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov). Due to the efforts of all parties, it was possible to accelerate the oath of Estella (20 years) and Noa (21) so that it could coincide with the validity of Kevin Diks who also became an Indonesian citizen.
“It is hoped that Estella and Noa can add toughness to the back and middle lines of the Indonesian Women’s National Team. Moreover, both of them have experience playing in the European League so they can have a significant impact on the performance of the Indonesian Women’s National Team,” he continued.
Currently, the women’s national team is preparing for the AFF Women’s Cup in Laos from 23 November to 1 December 2024. If nothing goes wrong, the new ammunition for the Indonesian Women’s National Team is scheduled to join and leave for Laos to prepare for the AFF Women’s Cup on the 15th November 2024.
