Euphoria of Ternate Residents Watching Malut United Play First Match in League 1

Ternate, Todaysgist.com – Even though they were not present in person, the people of North Maluku were enthusiastic about watching the action between Malut United and Madura United at the Gelora Bangkalan Stadium, Madura, East Java Province on television.

Not a few residents of Ternate City, North Maluku Province, held a joint viewing (Nobar) as a form of their love for the Malut United football team who are struggling in their first match in League 1.

Based on observations by Todaysgist.com, Saturday (10/8/2024), since 16.00 WIT, Ternate city residents have filled the nobar location in Dakomib Area, Kota Baru Village, even though the match only started at 17.30 WIT.

Since the first half, residents were seen enthusiastically watching their favorite team compete. Residents cheered when their favorite team managed to score a goal against the opponent in the second half. The euphoria of Malut United supporters was like watching a World Cup match.

Iqbal, a resident of Ternate city, admitted that the joint screening they held was a form of love for their favorite team and because they could not watch it live on the field.

“This joint viewing feels like we are with the players on the field. We want to give encouragement to Malut United even though we are not present on the field together in person. We are enthusiastic about watching this match. Look at the atmosphere earlier, especially since this is Malut United’s first match in League 1,” said Iqbal.

The team from North Maluku returned to action in the elite Indonesian football scene after a 17-year absence. This made the residents even more enthusiastic.

“Previously, there was a Persiter team in the main division before there was League 1. However, due to football regulations in Indonesia, Persiter no longer existed for approximately 17 years. That longing was answered with the presence of Malut United in League 1 today and answered all the longings of the people of North Maluku,” he said.

The match at Madura United’s home ground was the first action of the team from North Maluku Province in League 1. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
