Failing to steal points, Kabau Sirah is stuck in the League 1 relegation zone

Kediri, Beritasatu.com – The hosts won the Persik vs Semen Padang match in League 1 with a score of 3-1 at the Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri City, East Java, Saturday (21/12/2024).

By failing to get points at home to Persik, the visiting team nicknamed Kabau Sirah is still stuck in the relegation zone. They are in 17th position in the League 1 standings for the 2024-2025 season.

Semen Padang FC coach Eduardo Almeida admitted that he really regretted losing that match. Having taken the lead in the first half, Persik managed to reverse the position after one Semen Padang player was given a red card.

“Because the opposing team was one player ahead, everything changed. When there was a red card, the game was different,” said Almeida, during a press conference after the match.

Almeida said, at the start of the first half Semen Padang played superior to the hosts. Playing with 11 players, Kabau Sirah managed to steal the lead with a score of 1-0.

He said the match changed when the referee gave a red card to one of his players.

The coach from Portugal also admitted that he had difficulty dealing with Persik who appeared in front of his supporters. Persik’s 3-1 winning score lasted until the end of the match. “Of course the match is very difficult, especially since Persik appeared as hosts against ten of us,” he explained.

He continued, the three goals scored by Persik Kediri were very difficult for Semen Padang’s defenders to control. “All of Persik’s goals started from set pieces. We couldn’t stop them. We will evaluate that,” he concluded.

With the victory in the Persik vs Semen Padang match, the White Tiger team rose to 8th position with 24 points.
