Fakhri Reveals East Java Men’s Football Team Preparation Only 2 Months

Banda Aceh, Todaysgist.com – The coach of the East Java (Jatim) men’s soccer team, Fakhri Husaini, said that his team only had two months of preparation time before competing in the 21st Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) 2024.

“The East Java team’s preparations only lasted for two months,” said Fakhri Husaini in Banda Aceh, Wednesday (18/9/2024) evening.

Fakhri conveyed this after his team won a gold medal in the men’s soccer event at PON XXI Aceh-Sumut 2024.

East Java emerged as champions after successfully defeating West Java with a score of 1-0 in the final match held at the Harapan Bangsa Stadium, Banda Aceh, Wednesday (18/9/2024) evening.

In addition to the short preparation time, Fakhri also revealed that six players who were initially selected had to withdraw due to commitments to Liga 2 and Liga 1 Indonesia, so the team had to look for replacement players.

However, he feels grateful because East Java has many talented young players, which makes it easier to form a solid and compact team.

“The proof of this potential is their success in winning the gold medal at PON XXI Aceh-Sumut. East Java does not lack young talent, it is just a matter of how Asprov PSSI can develop them,” he said.

Fakhri also explained that there are still many talented players in East Java who are worthy of joining the PON team. In one of the trials, he was even interested in a young striker born in 2005.

However, the player failed to join the team because the list of players had been submitted to KONI, making it impossible to add members. squad.
