Forty Federal Police and Civil Police agents from different regions of Brazil participate in the second edition of the Financial Investigation and Asset Analysis Course, held until November 29th. According to the press release, the objective is to improve techniques for tracking illicit resources, including cryptocurrencies.
The idea is that, after the course, agents will be able to help increase asset recovery and improve criminal investigations.
The training includes classes on analyzing financial intelligence reports, investigating cryptocurrencies and using technological tools, such as link analysis and business intelligence. In addition, the training will address document custody practices related to investigative processes.
Participants will have access to techniques for investigating and analyzing financial crimes. This includes money laundering and corruption, as well as practical simulations based on real cases. The approach aims to strengthen investigations carried out by public security forces in the fight against organized crime.
Cryptocurrency tracking course
Promoted by the Directorate of Integrated Operations and Intelligence (Diopi), linked to the National Secretariat of Public Security (Senasp), of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the course will have a workload of 80 hours.
Among the topics highlighted is the tracking of financial transactions in cryptocurrencies, an element increasingly present in illicit activities due to their digital and decentralized nature.
The training is part of a strategy to combat financial crimes, considered one of the pillars that support organized crime. The goal goes beyond punishing those involved, also seeking to disrupt the financing networks for illicit activities in the country.
By focusing on cryptocurrencies, the course recognizes the growing role of these technologies in cases of money laundering and tax evasion. With the new tools, agents will be better prepared to track blockchain transactions and identify connections that could lead to the dismantling of criminal schemes.
