FFI is confident that the Indonesian Women’s Futsal National Team will reach the semifinals of the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal ASIAN Cup

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI) does not want to do half-hearted preparations for the Indonesian Women’s Futsal National Team after being able to achieve third place in the 2024 ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship.

Evaluations are still being carried out, because in January next year the women’s national futsal team will face the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup qualifiers. Moreover, Indonesia has been appointed as host.

A big step was taken by bringing in a world-class coach from Portugal, Luis Estrella. Luis himself has a lot of experience both as a player and coach at SL Benfica Feminio.

With track record It is hoped that Luis Estrella can bring change to Indonesian women’s futsal. Not only in the national team, but also throughout.

“The main reason is clearly to face the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup qualifications. We certainly have a target for Indonesia to qualify and reach the semifinals,” explained FFI Chairman Michael V Sianipar.

Michael admitted that Luis’ arrival would certainly have a big impact. Not only in terms of achievements, but also in terms of breakthroughs for Indonesian futsal. Especially in the women’s sector, whose potential has not yet been fully explored.

“There will definitely be many breakthroughs for Indonesian futsal. The experience and methods developed will definitely have an impact,” he explained.

Regarding the achievements of the Indonesian Women’s National Futsal Team, his party highly appreciated them. However, changes need to be made for higher targets.

“We appreciate what the women’s national futsal team has achieved to date, but there are big targets that must be achieved. We want to talk not only about ASEAN and Asia but the world,” he said.

There are at least three main tasks given to Luis Estrella. The short-term target is of course to improve performance, starting from qualifying, to reaching the semifinals to playing in the World Cup.

Long-term targets can bring programs and breakthroughs related to player regeneration. Moreover, the women’s sector is very different from the men’s sector so it needs a special touch.

The target given to Luis Estrella was to help FFI develop the Indonesian futsal ecosystem. At least the experience in his country can have a changing impact on Indonesian futsal.

So that Indonesia can have a lot to say on the world futsal scene. Both from the national team side to the quality of the league.

Meanwhile, Luis Estrella admitted that he was quite happy and felt challenged by the offer given to him. He admitted that the plans prepared by FFI were quite challenging.

“The main reason is because what the federation has planned is really interesting. Especially with the target of qualifying for the World Cup and bringing big changes to Indonesian futsal,” he explained.

This coach, who has more than 20 years of experience in futsal, admits that Indonesia has great potential. He wants to make a contribution from his technical abilities and experience to develop Indonesian futsal.

“I am quite confident in what I have, both experience and ability, to help develop Indonesian futsal. Because Indonesian futsal must be at the highest level,” he said.

Her target is to try to qualify, she has also studied how the Indonesian women’s national futsal team plays.

“I have learned that the Indonesian women’s national futsal team is really good. It just has to be developed and involves everyone in the game. We will hold a training camp to prepare for the future,” he concluded.
