First Indonesian Weightlifter to Win Gold

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Weightlifting Association (PB PABSI) Rosan Roeslani expressed his emotion and pride over the achievements of lifter or weightlifter, Rizki Juniansyah in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Rizki Juniansyah became the first Indonesian weightlifter to successfully bring home Olympic gold to his homeland.

Rizki Juniansyah managed to bring home a gold medal in the 73 kilogram weightlifting class at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“Thank God Indonesia’s second gold medal was successfully won by Rizki Juniansyah. As the General Chairperson of PB PABSI, I am very grateful that the weightlifting sport can contribute gold for the red and white,” said Rosan as quoted from Instagram, Friday (9/8/2024).

Rosan recounted the moment when Rizki Juniansyah managed to record the best score, so that he was able to become the first at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“I and all the Indonesian people who were present at the South Paris Arena felt proud and touched when Rizki managed to record a total lift of 354 kilograms with a snatch lift of 155 kilograms and a clean and jerk lift of 199 kilograms,” he explained.

In fact, Rosan revealed that he also brought Rizki Juniansyah’s family, namely his mother and older brother, to Paris to provide support.

“Specifically, I also present his mother, who is also a former successful weightlifter, along with his beloved brother to provide direct support to Rizki during the competition,” he explained.

According to Rosan, this family support will provide extraordinary spirit and motivation for Rizki Juniansyah. In fact, he also managed to break the record clean and jerk Olympics and became the first Indonesian weightlifter to win Olympic gold.

“Not only breaking records clean and jerk “Olympics, Rizki also became the first Indonesian weightlifter to bring home an Olympic gold medal to the country,” he said.

Rizki Juniansyah became the second athlete to bring home gold from the 2024 Paris Olympics. Previously, rock climber Veddriq Leonardo became the first person to win gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
