Flairene Candrea Becomes the Bearer of the Red and White Flag at the 2023 SEA Games

The Indonesian contingent who was part of the defile opening ceremony Approximately 45 people participated in the SEA Games 2023 Cambodia who were representatives of 25 athletes and officials as well as 15 representatives of the CdM Team and the Executive Committee of the Indonesian Olympic Committee or NOC Indonesia.

The sports that took part in the parade were karate, teqball, swimming, pencak silat and takraw. Adi Wirawan representative from KE NOC Indonesia, Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Team Lexyndo Hakim, Vice CdM Puji Lestari, Deputy I Andi Astribhaskoro Emir, Deputy II Ibnu Riza Pradipta and others.

In the parade, the Red and White flag was carried by a swimming athlete who won a gold medal in the 100 meter backstroke at the 2021 Vietnam SEA Games, Flairene Candrea Wonomiharjo.

“It’s an honor and of course I’m very happy to be able to represent Indonesia in Southeast Asia by carrying the Red and White flag. This is an opportunity I can’t turn down. Anyway, I’m very proud,” said Flair, Thursday (4/5/2023).

Swimming athlete, Flairene Candrea Wonomiharjo, was chosen as the flag bearer for the Indonesian contingent at the opening ceremony of the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia.

Meanwhile, CDM Lexy said that this was the best demonstration performance that could be dedicated to our fellow ASEAN countries. In addition to introducing the face of Indonesia, as well as representatives of Indonesian strength at the 2023 Cambodian SEA Games.

The Indonesian team fielded 599 athletes who participated in 31 sports at this time’s SEA Games. The Indonesian team hopes to at least maintain the third place they won in Vietnam last year with a target of 60 gold medals.

Approaching opening ceremony On Friday (5/5/2023), CdM Lexy, who had just arrived in Cambodia, Wednesday (3/5) afternoon also continued to tour the sports, both those that had already held matches and those that were still undergoing training.

“This SEA Games is a form of solidarity between us, the Indonesian people towards Cambodia and friendly ASEAN countries. So, we must play an active role and take part in this SEA Games,” said Lexy.

“Apart from that, this SEA Games is also a springboard for our Indonesian team to welcome the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou and the 2024 Paris Olympics. These have all been a long journey of achievement for Indonesian athletes starting from the SEA Games in Cambodia,” concluded Lexy.

SEA Games Cambodia is the 32nd edition. This is the first time Cambodia has hosted a multi-event sports solidarity event in the ASEAN region.
