The Floki Inu (FLOKI) memecoin, as well as its Valhalla game, will be appearing in several English Premier League (EPL) properties. This will happen due to an initial agreement between the memecoin and the biggest football league on the planet.

Valhalla is a game launched by PLOKI through the real-world asset tokenization platform TokenFi. According to its description, the game introduces staking features to increase the appeal of the FLOKI token.

These partnerships will begin with advertisements spread across all the shirts of the main Premier League teams, giving FLOKI visibility in virtually every game of the competition.

Mastering the shirts

Initially, the FLOKI name will be featured on the shirts of several English football clubs. The FLOKI token will be the cryptocurrency partner of Nottingham Forest. But the Valhalla game will appear on the back of Sunderland AFC’s shirt and will also be displayed as on-screen ads at all league games.

The agreement will initially last for one year, but a member of FLOKI said it could be extended.

“It’s a potential multi-year deal and a minimum one-year/season deal. As for the benefits for Floki holders, there are many, such as increased brand awareness and recognition, as well as exposure to our ecosystem and community,” the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The memecoin team did not disclose specific costs for the various sponsorships, which are confidential details of the deal. But they did say the deal came about through “direct contact” between Floki and the Premier League.

Cryptocurrencies and sports

Cryptocurrency teams often sponsor sporting events and stadiums to increase the visibility of their projects. In 2021, Crypto.com paid $700 million for naming rights to the Staples Center in Los Angeles, ushering in the era of such sponsorships.

On the other hand, the now-defunct FTX exchange signed several deals, paying hundreds of millions of dollars to place its brand on sports venues and avenues around the world. In this case, the deals did not help to avoid the company’s bankruptcy in November 2022.

It’s unclear, however, how much these partnerships will ultimately help brands and influence token prices. But the Floki team is optimistic about the prospects.

“Unlike many exchanges and large projects that invest heavily in securing partnerships, we achieve exceptional value at a fraction of the cost. Our direct relationships with well-established and highly respected organizations allow us to maximize our impact in the market,” said Sabre, Head of Marketing at Floki.
