Garena Supports Gameseed 2024, a Game Competition and Incubation Event in Indonesia

Todaysgist.com, Jakarta – Garena announced a collaboration with Kemenparekraf (Ministry of Tourism and Economy) and AGI (Indonesian Game Association) in the Gameseed 2024 event. This event is the largest game competition and incubation in Indonesia.

Gameseed 2024 aims to improve the quality and quantity of local games. As the main sponsor, Garena will provide full support to participants, from training, mentoring, to opportunities to interact with game industry experts.

“We see now that the development of the local gaming industry is also very good and progressing rapidly. So this is the right time for us to strengthen our commitment and contribute to the local gaming industry,” said Garena Indonesia Country Head Hans in a press release, Sunday (11/8/2024).

It was also explained that Garena’s support and commitment also enlivened the momentum of National Game Day 2024. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that this second year of Gameseed aims to increase the knowledge and experience of game industry players.

In this way, they can create games that are accepted by the market, as well as develop a sustainable game studio that is ready to compete at the national and international levels.

Garena’s presence at Gameseed 2024 is also said to provide added value to the participant market. Because, they can directly exchange ideas with experts from Garena.

Meanwhile, with the training and mentoring provided, it is hoped that there will be a transfer of knowledge and experience to help participants develop local games that are able to compete in the global market.

Garena itself has been active in various initiatives to encourage the development of the domestic gaming industry. One of them is through collaboration with Kemenparekraf and AGI to organize Garena Game Jam 2023.

This program presents a 48-hour game creation competition for young Indonesian developers. In addition to being a competition, this program is also a suggestion for developers to exchange knowledge and experience, and build networks with professionals.
