Germany Seizes 13 Illegal Crypto ATMs, Value Reaches IDR 432.9 Billion

Cryptocurrency ATM return will experience positive growth in 2024. There will be an additional 2,564 new crypto ATMs.

Launch News.bitcoin.comTuesday (2/7/2024) there are currently 38,279 cryptocurrency ATMs, indicating that 5,808 machines have been added over the past 11 months worldwide.

Around 2,564 new crypto ATMs have been installed this year, with metrics from coinatmradar.com showing a monthly increase except for June 2024.

Meanwhile, in July 2024, there was a small reduction of 115 crypto ATMs, followed by the installation of 377 new machines.

By the end of 2022, there was a significant drop in the number of Bitcoin (BTC) or crypto ATMs, with the number of crypto ATMs worldwide dropping from 39,541 to 32,471 in July 2023. To break the 2022 record, an estimated 1,262 more Bitcoin ATMs would need to be installed.

Bitcoin Depot, Coinflip, and Athena Bitcoin are known as the leading crypto ATM operators. Bitcoin Depot operates 7,543 crypto ATMs, Coinflip manages 5,057 ATMs, and Athena oversees 2,756 ATMs. The United States has the largest number of crypto ATMs, hosting 82.7% of the world’s machines, while Canada has 7.7%.

The global expansion of crypto ATMs reflects strong market demand for local financial services. Despite a slight dip in June 2024, the subsequent installation of 377 crypto ATMs shows continued growth.

Major operators continue to expand their networks and play an important role in the development of the crypto industry.
