Giallorossi Rises Rankings in Serie A
Rome, Beritasatu.com – The Italian Serie A League match between AS Roma vs Genoa ended with a score of 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, Saturday (18/1/2025) early morning WIB. With this result, the Giallorossi nicknamed Roma managed to move up one place in the Serie A standings.
This victory took Roma to ninth position with a collection of 27 points from 21 matches. Meanwhile, Genoa remains in 11th place with 23 points, according to official Serie A records.
Roma’s winning goal was scored by Artem Dovbyk, Stephan El Shaarawy, and Nicola Leali’s own goal. Meanwhile, Genoa’s only goal was scored by Patrizio Masini.
In the Roma vs Genoa match, the home team showed dominance with 53% possession of the ball and created 16 opportunities, seven of which were on target.
Claudio Ranieri’s team opened the scoring in the 25th minute through Artem Dovbyk’s goal using a rebound. However, Genoa managed to equalize in the 33rd minute through Patrizio Masini’s kick which changed the score to 1-1.
AS Roma took the lead again in the 60th minute thanks to Stephan El Shaarawy’s goal. Roma’s lead became even stronger after Genoa goalkeeper Nicola Leali scored an own goal which made the score 3-1.
Roma continued to play attacking and created several additional opportunities, but until the final whistle sounded, the score remained 3-1 in favor of the hosts.
After the Roma vs Genoa match, Ranieri’s troops are scheduled to face Udinese next Sunday. Meanwhile, Genoa will host Monza two days later.
