Hackers Hack North Korea-Affiliated Crypto Platform Indodax
Todaysgist, News – CEO of crypto exchange Indodax, Oscar Darmawan revealed that the hack that occurred on Indodax was affiliated with the DPRK (North Korea). Oscar said this indication came from an analysis by one of the world’s leading crypto security agencies.
Oscar said that this hacking is a serious global threat, therefore his party has coordinated with the Cyber Headquarters of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit to handle this incident quickly and effectively.
“Apart from Indodax, the DPRK-affiliated hacker group has attacked many other global crypto exchanges before. They have also previously targeted many crypto exchanges with large liquidity and global standards,” Oscar said in an official statement, quoted Monday (16/9/2024).
In his statement, Oscar reiterated that crypto assets and rupiah in Indodax accounts remain 100 percent safe. Indodax takes strict security measures to ensure that no member funds are affected by this attack.
“In addition, the entire process of checking balances and assets has been completed, and everything is in a safe condition,” explained Oscar.
The total crypto assets managed by Indodax are currently more than IDR 11.5 trillion, where the value of these crypto assets is greater than 100 percent of the member’s balance assets, so the member’s balance is guaranteed to be safe.
Oscar explained that this crypto asset data can be verified publicly through a blockchain that can be accessed by anyone using the internet. Everyone can check and verify this data openly. This proof of reserve data has been announced via the Indodax blog.
Proof of reserve This itself is one of the international standards in the crypto exchange industry which is carried out to prove the safe management of crypto assets and make it easier for members to monitor their crypto exchanges so that they do not misuse the managed crypto assets.
