Hany Budiarti Officially Marries Fellow TNI Member, Wilda: Happy Wedding Huniw

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – Indonesian volleyball star Wilda Siti Nurfadhilah also commented on the wedding of fellow national volleyball athlete, Hany Budiarti (28) who married Indonesian Air Force (AU) member Lutfi Suwarli. Several of Hany’s colleagues from the national volleyball team, such as Netty Diah and Dewi Intansari, also attended the wedding which took place on Saturday (21/9/2024) in Malang, East Java.

“Happy wedding Huniw. Barakallahu lakum wa baraka alaikum,” wrote Wilda via Instagram.

In the wedding, Hany and Lutfi underwent a sword pora procession, where they walked through the drawn swords that formed a gate to the wedding stage. This sacred moment was marked by Lutfi kissing Hany’s forehead when they both arrived at the wedding stage.

The Pedang Pora tradition is a military ceremony performed by TNI (Indonesian National Army) personnel or other armed forces as part of a wedding ceremony or honorary event. The Pedang Pora is performed to honor military members who are getting married.

In this ceremony, a group of young officers line up in a two-line formation, holding swords raised high to form a kind of gate or tunnel. The bride and groom will walk under the sword gate towards the wedding dais or altar. This tradition symbolizes honor, loyalty, and protection for the bride and groom, especially for the military members involved.

Hany appeared graceful in a red wedding dress and a crown adorning her head, while Lutfi wore an official TNI AU uniform. Before the reception procession, the couple also held a marriage contract in traditional Sundanese attire.

Before getting married, the two rarely showed off their affection on social media. Only those closest to them knew about their relationship.

Hany Budiarti and Lutfi are Indonesian Air Force (AU) soldiers. Hany holds the rank of sergeant or sergeant one, while Lutfi is an Indonesian Air Force pilot with the rank of Lieutenant Pnb who graduated in applied defense. Lutfi is the first son of the couple Second Lieutenant (Ret.) Pepen Sumpena and Yati Setiawati.

Hany Budiarti is known as one of the mainstay opposite hitters of the Indonesian national volleyball team. In the 2024 Proliga, she plays for the Jakarta club Pertamina Enduro, often sharing the role with Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi, her positional partner.

Meanwhile, Wilda herself just got married to fellow national volleyball athlete, Dony Haryono, on October 14, 2023 in Cimahi, West Java. The couple became one of the icons in the world of Indonesian volleyball.
