Held at the beginning of the year, the strength of the 2025 Proliga teams is more evenly distributed

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The 2025 PLN Mobile Proliga volleyball competition will be held at the beginning of the year, namely from January 3 to May 11 2025. The strength of the Proliga teams will appear more evenly distributed.

Five men’s teams and seven women’s teams will participate in the event. The 2025 Proliga will be competed in 11 cities throughout Indonesia.

Chairman of the Central Management of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PP PBVSI) Imam Sudjarwo assessed that the 2025 Proliga competition was more even because the players labeled as national teams strengthened a number of participating clubs.

“Proliga 2025 is ready to present very interesting games later and evenly. Of course evenly, because the national team players who join these clubs are also evenly distributed. Then the strength of the foreign players is also evenly distributed,” said Imam Sudjarwo in Jakarta, Tuesday (17/12/ 2024).

Imam also hopes that the 23rd season of Proliga will give rise to new seeds of volleyball players who will later regenerate the Indonesian national team.

“From the PLN Mobile Proliga 2025, we will definitely get great young players, who will become the mainstay of the Indonesian national team in the future,” explained Imam.

Proliga 2025 Director Hanny Surkatty said that even though five men’s teams and seven women’s teams were participating, Proliga still presented fierce competition. Technically, he said, there was no change with Proliga in previous years.

“Non-technically, we have a break of five weeks and this is approved by all clubs. “There are also substitutions between foreign players and local players that can be made before the final four, two foreign players and one local player,” he said.

It was explained that the first round of 31 matches would start on January 3. Then it continued in the second round which also held 31 matches.

Later the four best teams in the two rounds will advance to the final four which will be divided into three phases, the first, second and third final four with each competing in a total of eight matches.

Then, the two best teams will compete for the title in the 2025 Proliga grand final round with a total of four matches taking place on May 1 for the women’s sector and May 11 for the men’s sector.

The 2025 Proliga will be participated by five men’s teams and seven women’s teams.
